In previous instalments we have dealt with different topics related to soil stabilization and the commercial relationship with Dyanan. After explaining the problems and challenges to be faced, and explaining in detail what nanotechnology is, today we focus on how the soil stabilization process works.

The stabilization of soils is achieved when there is sufficient resistance to avoid undergoing unacceptable deformations and wear due to the action of road stresses or atmospheric agents, and it also maintains this condition under the normal climatic effects of the region. In most cases, stabilization is necessary depending on the particle size, plasticity, degree of humidity and type of stabilizer, so that the soil acquires the mechanical characteristics that make it usable as a constituent layer of a pavement and / or its surface.

This work entails the construction of a structural pavement layer, consisting of a uniform mixture of soils (material resulting from the scarification of the surface layer or from a loan material or a mixture of both) and an alternative chemical stabilizer, previously evaluated in the field in a length or area indicated by the contracting entity, according to the dimensions, alignments and sections indicated in the project documents or determined by the Inspector.

There are different types of soil stabilization. Below we outline them:

  • Physical: traditional; dynamic compaction: quarry aggregates, quicklime.
  • Physicochemical: Cementitious materials: hydraulic lime and cement; Asphalt binders: emulsions and foams
  • Chemical. Organic: salts, sulfonated oil and organic polymers; Inorganic: enzymes, stone and vegetable derived additives.

The solution: soil stabilization with synthetic and ecological polymers

Our technical solutions are the result of research and development of synthetic chemistry and applied physics in the field of soil stabilization.

We use the methodology of electrochemistry applied in soils, with the use and application of “ecological synthetic polymers”.

Our portfolio of ecological chemical additives provide, with the guidance of our R&D&I Department at the factory, technical, economic and environmental solutions.

Our technology allows us to provide definitive solutions in all types of compactable soils, without the need for aggregates (granular bases) in most interventions, following a protocol for each type of soil according to the ASHHTO standard classification.
