Thanks to the support received through the Green Coupon from ACCIÓ, Concentrol has carried out a key project to move forward towards sustainability and decarbonization.
The project consisted of conducting a comprehensive energy analysis of the facilities and calculating the carbon footprint for the year 2023, including Scopes 1 and 2 and, partially, Scope 3 (that is, both the company’s direct emissions and those associated with electricity consumption, while also initiating the analysis of other impacts along the value chain).
Based on this study, a decarbonization plan has been developed, which sets out concrete actions classified by priority and incorporates indicators to monitor their implementation.
During the energy audit, consumption by process was analyzed, as well as thermal, electrical and lighting systems, identifying various opportunities for improvement to reduce both energy expenditure and associated emissions.
The carbon footprint calculation was carried out in line with the GHG Protocol methodology and using official emission factor databases, ensuring reliable results.
As a result, specific improvement measures have been defined, both operational and strategic, with strong potential to reduce emissions and costs.
