As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and the implementation of our ESG policy, at Concentrol we have reached a new milestone in the fight against climate change. Our initiatives in refurbishing IBC containers at the Riudellots de la Selva plant have allowed us to avoid the emission of 247.2 tons of CO2, while significantly contributing to the circular economy.
Through the Schütz Ticket Service, we refurbished 2,310 IBCs, which resulted in saving 89 tons of steel and 35.1 tons of plastic, proving that sustainable actions can have a big impact. This process not only minimizes the use of new resources but also maximizes the reuse of materials, in line with our goal of minimizing the carbon footprint and protecting the environment.
The components of the IBCs, from the inner bottles to the screw caps, were replaced with original parts from our trusted supplier and refurbished in plants certified under ISO 14001 and/or ISO 9001 standards. Thanks to this process, the recovered material was transformed into new products such as pallets and corner pieces, closing the product life cycle and ensuring efficient reuse of resources.
With these measures, at Concentrol we continue to innovate in our practices and reaffirm our commitment to leading by example in reducing emissions and implementing sustainable solutions.
