Concentrol is participating as an industrial pilot in the European MELODIZER project, an initiative funded by the European Union focused on the development and validation of new technologies for industrial water reuse, contributing to contaminant reduction and more efficient use of water resources.

As part of the project, a MELODIZER membrane distillation pilot plant has been installed at Concentrol’s facilities, enabling the technology to be tested under real industrial operating conditions. Concentrol’s role is essential in bringing the project’s technological developments into an industrial setting, assessing performance, reliability and practical applicability.

MELODIZER is based on a new membrane distillation technology incorporating nano-engineered elements, designed to enhance the efficiency of industrial water treatment processes. This technology enables the reuse of more than 90% of the water used in industrial processes, reducing contaminant loads and supporting more sustainable production models.

The project is coordinated by the Politecnico di Torino and brings together European partners from industry, technology and research. Its objectives include the development of sustainable industrial solutions through advanced materials, support for the European zero pollution strategy, and the reduction of the industrial water footprint, in line with EU sustainability and natural resource conservation policies.

At the end of January, a delegation of technical experts from several European companies visited the pilot plant installed at Concentrol to review the project’s progress and observe the system operating in a real industrial environment. The visit was also attended by the representative of the European Commission and Project Officer, Vasiliki Stergiopoulou, further highlighting Concentrol’s role within the European consortium.

Concentrol’s participation as an industrial pilot in MELODIZER underlines its commitment to technological innovation, industrial sustainability, and active involvement in European collaborative projects, contributing to the advancement of efficient and responsible water management solutions for industry.
