Last Friday, April 13th, the Mas Marroch space, managed by the Celler de Can Roca team, hosted the event El sopar dels miralls (The mirror dinner). This dinner, organized by the Biomedical Research Institute of Girona (IDIBGI), is a social event with a charity goal: to become a platform to encourage fundraising for Research projects in Biomedical Sciences and Public Health.

The format of the dinner was unique: groups of attendees could choose a recognized person who they admire and share a table with them. It was a unique opportunity to talk with admired people helping a charity cause.

The event brought together more than fifty prominent people from the fields of culture, science, journalism, sports, business and politics in Catalonia to share a table with other people who identified with them.

The Biomedical Research Institute of Girona has its origins in the Doctor Josep Trueta Private Foundation and was created in July 2005 with the objective of developing, managing and disseminating quality research in biomedical sciences and public and community health in the area of the Girona province. IDIBGI is a research centre affiliated to the University of Girona (UdG), which is part of the CERCA network of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Currently, it has a workforce of some 100 people that groups more than 300 researchers and various related institutions that investigate in areas such as cardiovascular diseases, metabolism and inflammation, neurosciences, oncohematology, medical imaging and mental health.

To collaborate with this important initiative, members of Concentrol’s Executive Committee attended El sopar dels miralls and shared a table with comedian Lluís Jutglar, popularly known as Peyu.
