Concentrol is a family company based in Riudellots de la Selva (Girona), with over 80 years of experience in the chemical sector. In 1941, Jaume Guàrdia Jordà founded Tintes CONCENTROL in las Planes d’Hostoles to make products for the domestic sector. In 1968, his son, Josep Guàrdia Rodà, a visionary ahead of his time, moved the activity towards the production of chemical specialties for the manufacturing industry. This provided the boost needed for the company and it moved to its present location a few years later to ensure its growth, which has been consolidated year after year. In 2013, the three Guàrdia Pont brothers took charge of the general management, continuing with the same spirit and philosophy as their father.
Work well done is the essence of the present Concentrol which looks to the future, coping with new challenges to compete successfully in the global market.

We guarantee the quality of our products with actions, not just words and declare that we defend and support the highest quality in all our products and manufacturing processes. And we can prove it with the different certificates that guarantee the compliance with the regulations established by International Standards Organization (ISO).
This policy, applied from the beginning, reaped its rewards by obtaining the ISO 9002:94 in 1997, which was when we reinforced management control. Expanding the scope of our system in the year 2003 led us to the ISO 900,which defines the various requisites needed to achieve a good Quality Management System (SGC) in the different areas of the company. We now have the ISO 9001:2015 certificate.
We also have the ISO 14001:2015 certificate since 2007, which guarantees an effective Environmental Management System (EMS).


The preservation of the environment, is also present in all the industrial development. Sustainability and highest quality are the two lines of work that mark the daily routine of the company. Concentrol generates about 90,000 Kw/year through a photovoltaic plant for self-consumption, which contributes to the reduction of C02 emissions in the atmosphere. In total, there has been a reduction of 243 tons of thanks to the improvement in the efficiency of the installations.

In order to achieve a collective vision of who we are and who we have to be, Concentrol is working on the PC3 project, which aims to define the values and the mission of the company with the collaboration of several departments and perspectives. 

We want to have all the talent within the company and avoid losing it. That is why we promote professional development with a strategic training plan. We favour work and family balance and we offer social benefits such as the flexible remuneration package (with transport ticket, day-care ticket, restaurant tickets and group health insurance); last year we organised an outdoor day and offered a visitation day for families. We also have a healthy catering service in our dining room.


At Concentrol we are committed to our region. We regularly participate in activities, events and local celebrations that are in line with our values. Examples include: our ongoing support for the women’s football in Cornellà de Terri, the Oncolliga and the Uni Girona Club de Basket. Additionally, we support the Institut d’Investigació Biomèdica de Girona, which promotes biomedical research in the Girona region.

In the social sector we are committed to support high-risk and underprivileged communities. We collaborate with the Fundació Sergi against poverty, the Red Cross, Cáritas, the Jose Carreras Foundation, the Spanish Association Against Cancer, and child vaccination projects, among others. We are committed to the diversity of our staff and we comply with both the Lismi law for the integration of disabled people and the PICE programme which aims to facilitate and increase the employment of young people between 16 and 29 years of age.

We have the SMETA certification that covers the areas of work, health and safety, environment and business ethics. 


We care about protecting our environment and are actively working towards
sustainability in various areas.
Our facilities are equipped with photovoltaic solar cells. We use biodegradable bags and eliminate plastic packaging where possible. Our water consumption is monitored and optimized for efficiency. All of our processes are aimed at reducing, reusing and recycling.


We maintain close cooperation with our clients and continuously introduce new
product formulations into the market. This ongoing process helps our clients to achieve sustainability, improves their workers’ health and optimizes their production. Within the Performance Materials division we are carrying out projects to convert all solvent-based solutions into water-based projects, helping our clients become more sustainable and have less impact on the environment.

As for additives, we have designed an anti-foaming agent to help our paint customers achieve the Ecolabel certification. We are also designing a new range that innovates with water-based polyurethane dispersions, where all possible components come from renewable and sustainable sources and not from oil.

In the Food Processing Aids division we offer our customers natural, low toxicity and highly effective coatings.
