Sustainability is a critical issue that requires strong commitment and urgent response. Concentrol, as an economic agent with social responsibility, watches to act for the common good of society and the well-being of the planet. Along these lines, last Wednesday, January 29th, the chemical solutions company attended and participated in the conference organized by PIMEC Girona: “As a company, how can I contribute to the SDG?
The event revolved around the Sustainable Development Goals, set by the Agenda 2030 approved by the UN in 2015. After the meeting on the 25th September 2015 between world leaders, a set of global objectives was chosen with the mission of eradicating poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity. However, to make these wishes a reality, the UN called for the involvement of governments, civil society and the private sector.
Thus, confirming the commitment to sustainability and society, Concentrol decided to actively collaborate with the day and, indeed, it was a wise choice. The event became a space for reflection and dialogue among business people, where possible responses from the private sector in terms of sustainability and social responsibility were raised.
On the one hand, the conference presented and reported on the 17 objectives of the 2030 Agenda; and, on the other hand, it gathered the experiences of outstanding businessmen from Girona. Precisely, it was in the table of experiences where Josep Maria Pèlach Rebull, commercial and marketing director of Concentrol, explained the measures and serious actions that the chemical solutions company has taken to reduce its environmental impact and to watch over the well-being of society and the planet.
Climate change, social inequalities and wars are realities in the world and the sooner we become aware of global issues, the better we can fight to build societies that are just for everybody. For this reason, Concentrol has taken a stand so that the 17 UN SDG are closer every day to becoming a reality.
