Thanksgiving is a national holiday in the USA, Canada, some Caribbean Islands and Liberia celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. In the USA it is a very special day in which people give thanks and sacrifice for the blessings of the past year, and to ask for divine guidance for the year to come.
The first Thanksgiving was celebrated by the Pilgrims after their first successful harvest in 1621. The feast lasted three days and was attended by 90 Native Americans and 53 Pilgrims who came on two ships from England. The original feast included wild turkey, deer, fish, clams, berries, cornbreads, cranberries, and pumpkin pi and now traditionally Americans spend Thanksgiving with loved ones enjoying a large Turkey dinner before the shopping mania of Black Friday begins.
